The Sky and the Sea

Sky and Sea

The Sky and the Sea
Never coalesce like milk and tea
Lover to both
Ethereal heaven and vehement broth

Drove the clouds to cover the blue
Drew alfresco when I flew
Valued silver to the somber gloom
Precious gold to the blissful groom

Like Allan Poe’s Annabel Lee
I lived by the sea
Her tempest and her glee
Sky wept as she sets me free

Sang songs and blistering chills
Scoured the shores and the hills
Ephemeral and ethereal as the sky
The Sun, the Stars, the Moon and I

I am the Wind.

Nicely written. I love how you painted the scene through the words and the accompanying music.

Now, this is real poetry! Great imagery and symbolism. Tell me, can writing poems be learned? I am sure poets are born .. but can they be made in a trying hard (deliberate) way?

beautiful…an interplay of words, truly poetic

i, too, have a poem, called “oh Wind”

    the wind I can’t see
    but I can feel it
it is there, I am sure
    caressing my face
    almost a kiss
    enveloping my whole being
    a warm embrace
    making me feel alive
    glow, delight, smile
    a pleasant rendezvouz

    it blows intensely at times
    and I am swept away
bringing me to heights never imagined
    I forget myself
take me, please do, I plead
then i go with the flow of the wind
to the south, to the north
to the east, to the west
    a dizzying union
    with the wind, my wind

wake me up, when it becomes too much
more than what I can handle
and bring me back to earth
    where I truly belong
my feet firmly on the ground
be the wind that gently blows
the wind that I can feel
always there, even if I can’t see
always there, never to go away
to caress my face, envelop my whole being

never a fan of poetry but that doesn’t mean I don’t know good poems when I see one.

I’m okay, by the way. Just trying to matter.

    >>Panaderos,

Hello there, thanks for passing by. Appreciate it very much.

The wind is most misinterpreted as carefree element, but it is not. We are in ways elemental, a force of nature, and when we realize that our passions and hopelessness for life has shaped and disfigured all ambiguities and misunderstandings.

Actively seek out the answer to your questions my friend.

Forgive the delayed reply as I was again hiking out of town again.

I like drinking tea. Lemon tea. Milk Tea. Green, Black and Orange, English, Chinese and Indian. My cathartic relief.

I barely scratched the surface of your blog.
Would likewise like to read your composition in the days to come.

    Thanks.

    >>Annamanila,

I’m busier than the usual these days.

I think a poet is just a prose writer that got momentarily tired of writing prose, writes of bleeding hearts and unhealing wounds, of humor and distilled truths.

Everyone is a poet in his own right. I feel, therefore I am. Still, I say, poetry is like life, it’s best understood, when LIVED.

It’s our individual essences and our denials woven in excruciating triumphs and secret truths.

I love your poem for Apo Andeng. It makes me giggly and happy. A very nice song indeed!

    The ending.

It’s the reason we’re patient from the beginning.

I’ve transplanted my first verse to the last. I’ve lost my words. My unfinished stanza.

Live your life to the fullest.

We live for beauty and for truth.

The kind of truth, that even if we turn the world upside-down and inside-out, remains the same.

    >>Goddess,

I hope the Fates are being kind to you, as they have been to me. They do tend to twist us like pretzels and sometimes stretches the path with sunshine and moonlight showers.

We never needed to try to matter in the face of adversities and interwoven peculiarities. Because we matter whether we try or not.

I’m glad that you are better. Don’t speak your doubts, especially if it is about SELF, we empower them.

Expecting your new post. “Be the LIGHT unto THYSELF.”

    Take Care.

“We are what we see, feel and hear”

Beauty is subjective, at times perplexing and awe-inspiring. Most of all it is the inward looking that captivates us.

    Thanks for being here.
